True to say it`s often been said to us by new guests `wow we didn`t realise it is so beautiful here`. Our location is very difficult to put across on a website, so please try and take our word for it. We`re surrounded on all sides by hills and a valley, with cows grazing to the west and (more often than not) Sunflower fields in every other direction, we`re very proud to live here for 8 years now. Just a few dwellings are dotted on the hillside and woods in the distance, not a Nuclear power station, open cast mine or F1 racing circuit is to be seen.

However we are not completely cut-off,. Montmoreau town is about 8 minutes away by car, with French people, new supermarket, bank, tabac, fuel etc.. The beautiful village of Aubeterre is about 15 minutes away with a gorgeous market square, ancient undergound church, trendy-ish shops, restaurants, river beach and canoeing. The major medieval town of Angouleme is 35 minutes distant with an unbelievable number of restaurants and plenty of shops. Cognac is about an hour, well worth a visit, and the truly lovely St Emillion about 90 minutes. Not forgetting of course that we are surrounded by lovely French villages in all directions.
